| 1. SAILING EVENTS: One participant from each team is to compete with a “LASER” class boat. Three races, each of which will last maximum of 60 minutes, are to run on the same course. During the Racing Rules of Sailing for 2001-2004 (ISAF) will be applied. 2. SWIMMING EVENTS: Four participants from each team will compete in the following races: 200 m. medley, 100 m. freestyle, 100 m. breaststroke and 4x100 m. freestyle relay. 3. SEAMANSHIP EVENTS : Two participants from each team will compete in the following events: (a) Line throwing (aiming a life buoy at a distance of 25 m.) (b) Knotting (bowline, clove hitch, sheet single bend, bowline on the bight, rolling hitch, double sheet bend, whip, timber hitch, reef knot, hawser knot.) 4. LIFE SAVING RACE : One participant from each team, wearing working uniform (khakis), will compete in the following events: (a) Diving with khakis on, (b) Underwater swimming for 15 m, (c) Freestyle swimming for 30 m, (d) 3 m. surface dive and underwater recovery of a 1 m. long standard plastic dummy, Carrying the dummy for 20 / 30 m. until swimmer touches the end of the pool with any part of his / her body, Notes : 1. Each academy will be represented by SIX MIDSHIPMEN, while one or more midshipmen can participate in multiple events. 2. Sailing gear will be provided by the TURKISH NAVAL ACADEMY. |
