ADMISSION PROCEDURE

Graduates of the Naval High School are admitted to the Academy without an examination, whereas, civilian high school graduates majored in mathematics and science may also be admitted if a need arises.

According to Article 3839 issued in the Official Gazette on October 1, 1992, female candidates started to be admitted to the Turkish Naval Academy in the 1992-93 Academic Year.

Admission requirements are as follows:

1) Being a graduate of the science major of a civilian high school without any probations or having graduated from a high school (maximum ) one year ago. Such candidates are also required to have received 250 science points at the University Admission Examination.

2) The age limit for application is normally 19, but for those who had a language preparatory education, this limit is 20.

3) Selection process applied for the applicants consists of the following steps:


  a. PRE-INTELLIGENCE INVESTIGATION
  b. MEDICAL CHECK-UP
  c. PHYSICAL TEST
  d. PERSONALITY TEST (CATELL - PF 16)
     (measuring 16 personality factors) is not applied for elimination 
     but only providing information to the interview committee.
  e. INTERVIEW
  f. PASSING PRE-SELECTION AND BEING IN THE DRAFT CANDIDATE LIST
     PREPARED ACCORDING TO STANDING ON THE UNIVERSITY ADMISSION 
     EXAMINATION
  g. MEDICAL TEST
  h. ORIENTATION TRAINING
