THE PRIORITIZATION OF LAND FORCE COMMAND PROJECTS

Subprojects are being produced continuously by the apt experts to keep the current abilities of Turkish Land Forces and to make it more effective and to transform into more modern structure. However, due to shortage of sources, all of the projects cannot be put into life. Subprojects are needed to be evaluated and ranked by the scientific methods.

In this study, we handled with the problem of prioritization of projects that entered the search list at the Land Force Headquarters. For that purpose AHP method is used.

The Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) is a popular tool for the multi criteria decision making problems. In this method, the qualitative judgements can also be involved in decision support system as well as the quantified data. Because of the immense role of qualitative judgements in our problem –as happens in many real life problems- the AHP method is selected in this prioritization problem.

The prioritization of project problem, syncronized with AHP frame, is structured into 4-level hierarchy; goal, criterians, first level sub-criteria and alternatives. With this emerging model, the evaluation and prioritization of the sample projects is shown.
